With the arrival of The Witch Queen expansion to Destiny 2 came new Exotics, one of the most popular among players was the Exotic SMG Osteo Striga. It turns out that, unlike other exotics, it can initially be a little confusing to know what you need to do to unlock it, if that’s your case, you’re in the right place.
The Osteo Striga is similar to the exotic hand cannon Thorn, it fires toxic projectiles that track the targeted enemy. Final blows or hitting the target with multiple precision hits will trigger a toxic explosion that will affect whoever is in close range applying a poison effect that deals damage over time. This makes this SMG excellent against waves of enemies.
How to find Osteo Striga Exotic SMG in Destiny 2
The first step to unlocking this exotic weapon is to complete The Witch Queen campaign. After the last mission called “The Ritual”, you receive a Pattern, which will allow you to craft the weapon in Relic.
Once the mission is over, go to the new social space on Mars, Enclave, there go to Relic and press Shape. In the primary weapons section in Submachine Guns there is the exotic SMG ready to be created.
When creating the weapon for the first time in the Relic, only the basic Perks will be available. Like the other weapons created here, you will have to level up it to gain access to new improvements as well as its catalyst, but we’ll talk about that next. With everything selected press Finalize Shape and the Osteo Striga is yours, now it’s time to use it to level it up and make it even more deadly.
Unlock Osteo Striga’s Exotic Catalyst
To get the most out of this exotic SMG in Destiny 2 it is essential to equip its catalyst. For this it is necessary to reach level 10 with Osteo Striga, the way to do it is simply to use it, the more kills it causes the faster you progress.
Once you reach level 10 go back to the Relic to reshape the submachine gun. Equipping the Exotic Catalyst isn’t cheap but it’s worth it, it costs 3 Ascendant Alloys, 140 Ruinous Element, and 2,000 Neutral Element.
This exotic catalyst considerably increases stability and reload speed, and the best part, it refills part of the magazine when opponents are eliminated with its poison effect. You can eliminate hordes of red bars enemies without reloading.
Osteo Striga God Roll for PvP and PvE
To create the best builds it is important to know the weapons god rolls in Destiny 2, so here we list the best combinations of perks.
PvE
- Fluted Barrel – Greatly increases handling speed and slightly increases stability;
- Flared Magwell – Slight increases stability and greatly increases reload speed;
- Toxic Overload – Exotic trait;
- Hand-laid Stock – Increases stability;
PvP
- Fluted Barrel – Greatly increases handling speed and slightly increases stability;
- Accurized Rounds – Increases Range
- Toxic Overload – Exotic trait;
- Hand-laid Stock – Increases stability;
Both perks lists work fine for PvE and PvP but for the last, we increase a little range with the Accurized Rounds.
